Apartment Location

The rental apartment is located on Floor 5, 42 rue Jean Baptiste Pigalle, Montmartre, Paris 75009. The street runs from rue Blanche and Place d’Estienne up the hill to Place Pigalle, Montmartre. The nearest cross street is the junction of rue Chaptal and rue Notre Dame de Lorette. The closest Metro stations are St Georges, Pigalle and Trinite d’Estienne on Line 12. There is a No. 74 bus service on rue Notre Dame de Lorette which runs from the Hotel de Ville and close to the Louvre.

How to get to the apartment

If you arrive at Charles de Gaulle Airport, you have a choice of taxi, bus or train to take you into Central Paris. With the bus and train option, you will still need to catch a taxi if you have a lot of baggage.

Check out the FranceKeys web site for the best and current information on getting into, around and out of Paris: http://www.francekeys.com/english/general/arrive

By Taxi

Taxis are generally readily available at CDG any hour and the usual cost to central Paris is about 50 to 60 Euros. But be aware, peak hour traffic jams are part of Paris life and the meter will be ticking over during any traffic hold-ups.

By Bus

The Roissy Bus Service takes approximately 45 minutes from CDG Airport and terminates in Place De Garnier next to the Paris Opera, about 10 minutes from the apartment. (The Air France bus takes you to the Arc de Triomphe area) The best option is to take a taxi from there to the apartment in rue Jean Baptiste Pigalle. This is the probably the best and simplest option to reach the apartment if you do not wish to take a taxi direct from the airport. The buses costs about 8E and if you arrive at CDG1, exit to the outside at Door 30 and Door 12 in CDG 2.·

Airport connection/Airport pickup service

The airport pickup service can be booked in advance directly by you on www.airport-connection.com (or tel 0011 331 44 18 36 02) and this will provide a direct service door to door from the airport. The charges are E26 for one person, E32 for a couple and so on, with no charge for baggage.·

By Train

The RER, the main Paris urban rail service, runs from CDG Airport directly to Gare Du Nord, one of the principal railway stations in Paris. The service is very quick, cheap and clean. Gare du Nord is about a 10-minute walk from the apartment. But again, a taxi or metro is recommended if you have a lot of baggage or are tired from the journey. However, the Metro is not recommended with all its steps when you have a lot of baggage and are a little uncertain as to where to go, where to change lines and get off etc. Costs about 9E but depending on which terminal you arrive, you may need to take the shuttle to the CDG ·

By Car

Unless you are used to Paris, its street layout and all its major traffic and parking problems this is not a recommended way to start your holiday in France or your Paris stay. The apartment is located in the Montmartre area and like much of central Paris, on-street parking is very difficult or near impossible. Off- street parking is not available with this apartment. There is a commercial parking building further down rue Pigalle towards Place d’Estienne and where the large blue sign “P” is indicated.
